Is underboob the new cleavage? It would certainly seem so with the number of bras featuring base-of-the-cup cut-outs that I’ve been noticing of late. For customers looking for a bra that’s overtly sexy and erotic but practical at the same time, the ‘underboob bra’ is a subtler take on the cupless look and can, depending on the style, provide much of the support of a regular bra and even a fairly smooth line under clothing.

Personally, I love this trend. I bought Coco de Mer’s Fifty Shades Darker Masquerade halter bra which is featured in this article (you can read my review of it here), and half of the bras below are now on my wishlist. I even gave this style a go myself a while back with my now sold-out Jessica bralette, so maybe it’s time to revisit that shape in my sewing work!

If you’re feeling daring enough to take this look outside of the bedroom, you might like Lee and Lani’s The Maui bikini top, or the Valentina or Revolt bikini tops by Asherah Swimwear. But taking things back to the boudoir, below I’ve rounded up 15 bras and bralettes that all feature underboob cut-outs of some kind – some small, some rather more dramatic. There are options here for every budget, from £12 to £195, and sizes from 30A to 36DD and 38D (sadly I couldn’t find any full-bust sizes beyond a DD).

Let me know what you think of the ‘underboob cut-out’ bra trend! And do you know of any other bras I should be including on this list?

Whilst not completely cutout, the AP Nayeli bra comes to mind, as well as a mesh and silk Bordelle bra I saw on eBay recently. Lascivious’ Kitty bra probably also fits the bill.

I don’t sell these bras, you’ll need to refer to the brands’ size guides or customer service for sizing help.
