Introducing Less Is A’mor: Handmade Lingerie, Loungewear & Swimwear from Canada

Less Is A’mor debuted last year under the direction of designer Irina Shad, and has just added its first swimwear collection to the mix after initially launching with lingerie and loungewear. Originally from Russia but now based in Canada, where she completed a fashion design diploma at university, Shad designs for women who want to feel sensual and confident.

She says she is inspired by the current trend for strappy lingerie, but it’s the softer, more delicate touches that take centre stage. The loungewear collection is dominated by swathes of glossy silk and wide lace trims, though the product photography occasionally hints at the option to pair these with Less Is A’mor’s range of harnesses to add a little edge to your look.

One of my favourite nightwear designs is the Avery slip, which features a lightning bolt of thin satin lines across the chest, and an extra deep lace hem. It’s part pretty, part cool, and I think that sums up the Less Is A’mor look. There are delicate, sheer lace tops paired with wide-legged trousers, an oversized satin shirt, and a casual housecoat with a tuxedo-style shawl lapel. As for the lingerie, I particularly like the Romeo bodysuit on which some of the elastic strapping is covered by the more organic line of a thick, floral appliqué.

The debut swimwear line includes 3 one-pieces and 3 bikini sets, of which all but one design are available in multiple colours. Here, Shad’s passion for strapping details really shows, from cage-style bikini tops, to the ten adjustable straps with rose-gold hardware that ladder their way up each side of the Elvis swimsuit. If you’re not sure you’d want straps on your swimwear for every occasion, or you just appreciate options, you may like the Leo Harness bikini with fully-detachable hip, stomach and chest straps.

All Less Is A’mor lingerie and swimwear is handmade in Canada and is ready to ship so you don’t have to wait too long to receive it. The size range is currently XS-L, covering roughly US sizes 0-8 or UK sizes 4-12, and 32A-36D for bras.

There are pieces priced for all budgets, starting at $21.99 CAD (~£13 / ~15€ / ~US$17) for harnesses and going through to $289 CAD (~£176 / ~194€ / ~US$227) for the two-piece William pyjama set.

I would love to know what your favourite Less Is A’mor designs are! Are you more into the strappy harnesses or the luxurious nightwear? Or maybe it’s the swimwear below that most catches your eye?
