Panache is a powerhouse of the UK full-bust scene, having specialised in D+ lingerie and swimwear since 1982. Currently, the company has five brands: Panache, Panache Swim, Panache Sport, Cleo by Panache (targeting a slightly younger audience) and Sculptresse (their plus-size line). Across the five, they primarily cover cup sizes D to K and band sizes 28 to 46.
Although oodles of support is no longer what I really look for in a bra, I had a Panache bra back when I was pregnant and have also tried, and been impressed by, their Cleo by Panache line. This is a brand that combines a wealth of fit expertise with great fabric choices, to create full-bust lingerie that isn’t boring.
HauteFlair is a US-based stockist of all five Panache brands. Remember though if you’re a US shopper that Panache uses UK sizing – check the conversion charts at the bottom of this page to make sure you buy the right cup size!
Below I’ve picked out 9 of their best bras of the season, with options for everyone who wears a D-cup or above. There are plus-sized, sports and nursing bras in the mix, and styles ranging from basics to those with a touch of luxe.
The Strapless Bra
With smooth, moulded cups and a plunging shape, this is the perfect bra to stay hidden even under those strapless, sweetheart dresses. The floral lace band and little golden bead add a pretty touch, and it comes with detachable straps so you can wear it on days you just want a regular t-shirt bra too.
The Nursing Bra
When your body is going through all the changes that come with pregnancy, I think it’s extra important to find a bra that not only makes you feel comfortable, but pretty too. Sadly, most maternity and nursing bras are downright boring! If you’re used to lacier styles, here’s a chic and elegant nursing bra that’s available right from a 28D to a 40J.
The Everyday Basic Bra
Here’s a bra that’s simple and smooth enough to work under most outfits, but with enough pretty touches that it feels chic rather than boring. Offering lots of lift and shaping, it’s the kind of easy-to-wear bra you’ll find yourself reaching for time and again.
The Plus-Size Everyday Basic Bra
Available in 34 to 46 band sizes, it has supportive seaming and side slings to create a lift and projection, and has a balconette shape that sits well under most necklines. It’s a design that’s low-key but cute – the floral lace and leopard print bows elevate it from everyday basic to everyday pretty!
The Sheer Lace Bra
There’s no fabric quite like sheer lace to make you feel elegant and beautiful! And when it’s a soft, stretch lace like on this bra, it’ll feel comfortable against your skin too. This is the kind of pretty lace bra that you should wear ‘just because’, whenever you need a pick-me-up. It’s available up to a 40J.
The Minimalist Bra
If you’re looking for something a bit more unique and eye-catching than the everyday basics above, but floral lace isn’t really your thing, then how about this sleek and modern design? The satin fabric and sheer stripes feel luxurious, but with its classic balconette shape and smooth fabrics it still works for everyday wear.
The Plunge Bra
If it’s cleavage you’re after, then you need a plunge neckline. The low centre gore of this Cleo by Panache design means it will work well with those low V necklines. This one’s available in 28 to 38 bands and up to a H cup.
The Special Occasion Bra
I’ve been in love with this Clara bra since the first time I saw it many seasons ago. Panache have released it in various colourways, but you can’t go wrong with a classic black. The luxurious combination of satin overlaid with lace and sheer lace panels is super pretty, and it’s finished off with picot trims on almost every edge of the bra.
The Sports Bra
Whether your sport of choice is a low-impact yoga session or a more vigorous workout, this award-winning sports bra will keep your bust firmly in place throughout. Thanks to the hidden underwires, it keeps your breasts separated rather than simply smooshing them together on your chest. It’s moisture-wicking, breathable, and chic enough that you won’t mind showing it off at the gym!
If you’ve tried Panache (or Cleo, Sculptress etc.), I’d love to know your experiences with the brand! What’s your favourite bra from today’s list?
