Pretty Slippers: 21 Cosy Pairs

I thought I’d do something a little different today and write about something loungewear-adjacent – slippers!

The weather in Barcelona right now is an odd blend of warm, sunny days, and bitterly cold mornings and evenings. I’m still not totally used to living in a country that shuns carpet, and I hate the feeling of freezing tiles under my feet first thing in the morning.

I do have slippers, but they’re getting old and so I’ve been researching a replacement. My current ones are also booties which, cute as they are, don’t really fit the vibe when I’m at home in a silk slip or a velvet and lace dressing gown. ‘Boudoir slippers’ are a thing, but they’re not really slippers in the usual sense. They’re mules with kitten heels or wedges (or tall stilettos!), often designed with a peep-toe, and are rarely lined with something soft. They’re pretty, but not exactly comfy and cosy.

What I am looking for, really, is something that looks chic or even glamorous, but which will also keep my toes perfectly toasty. And I found so many tempting styles that I kind of want a whole slipper wardrobe now…

Intimissimi velvet slippers, £20 (~$26 / ~23€)

I’m leaning towards the bejewelled and fluffalicious River Island, Zara or Pretty You London slippers as the ones I’ll purchase, but which are your favourite pairs?

These are so pretty. My slippers are toasty but not very girly

Yes, same. Well, mine are bright pink so I guess that’s ‘girly’, but they’re definitely not glamorous!

Those have some definite ‘glam elf’ vibes 😉
