Halloween is another occasion to be creative and express ourselves through fashion, and sometimes (often), what’s underneath can be part of the celebration. Here is a selection of witchy lingerie I have recently come across that makes me think that spending Halloween at home again this year won’t be so bad in the end – and you’ll want to keep wearing these gorgeous pieces long after the 31st too!

If you like a luxury witch vibe, I recommend taking a look at Marjolaine’s Autumn/Winter 2021 collection. The incredible work of lace appliqué on vibrant silk here creates light and shadow in just the right places. I see a touch of mystery and the invitation to cast a spell, and the luminous copper silk of this Marjolaine Nymph slip is honestly enchanting. It’s available in sizes UK 6 -18 (FR 36-48 / XS to L). Fit note: While many French brands would consider a 36 to be UK 8, Marjolaine sizing is a bit different. Size up if the gown is mostly made of lace appliqué as the lace has no stretch, but go for your usual size if the slip is mostly satin.

For the traditional witches, a full lace gown can also be quite remarkable. Marjolaine’s Nyx range features beautiful eyelash lace and corset-like detailing. The subtle satin accents create clean lines around the body, and the use of different laces adds to the mystical aesthetic of this range.

Star embroideries and cosmos-inspired lingerie have been trending, and Halloween is the perfect time of the year to show off these celestial pieces. Black cats, moons, and broomsticks are certainly in the air this week and the Icone Colette set fits the aesthetic perfectly! Bralettes are available in sizes 30A to 36C and the coordinate in sizes UK 6 to 16 (XS-XL).

The Skeletons in the Closet Glitter Mesh Hooded Robe is a lovely and affordable option for your dark mass and other magical shenanigans. This versatile garment could be worn over more fitted clothes, or even open as a long cardigan. Available in sizes XS to 3XL, this piece is made of stretchy mesh which also allows flexibility in sizing.

For Agashi by Christina O, Halloween is a year-long celebration. If you like bats, spiderwebs, and skeleton bodysuits then this brand is the way to go. The Betty Bat bra and matching Betty Bats bralette can be matched to the Mayday brief, thong and bikini. The brand also offers underwear with a spiderweb pattern if you fancy that. The size range goes from 30-38 A to E for the bralette and 32-48 A to FF for the wired bra (with some variability in cup sizes depending on the band size).

Catherine D’Lish is known for her incredibly glamorous gowns and this year, an excellent new addition to the D’Lish family is this black burnout velvet version of the popular Beverly gown. This see-through gown with geometric patterns looks like the perfect dark priestess attire, and the opulent amount of fabric is perfect for any dramatic entrance! A bonus point is that it will be nice to wear throughout many seasons. Available in size XS to 3XL.

For the dark pinups, Bettie Page has you covered this season with their Annabelle set, a glamorous satin range adorned with spiderweb diamante detailing. You can play up the vintage-inspired aspect of this look with the matching girdle*. Whether you like Halloween or not, it is a rather festive ensemble that is also easy to wear if you fit in the size range. The set is available in sizes UK 8 to 26.

Twilight Siren is one of those companies that always pop into my mind for witchy lingerie. Their pentagram harnesses* come in several colours and are an easy accessory to complete a cool witchy outfit. This purple colourway is quite delicious and on-trend right now, and you can find some matching pieces* in their Etsy store!

For full-busted people, fashion bras can be a bit tricky to fit in, but if you are solely into the aesthetics then Playful Promises’ Charlie set might please your eye! The cut-out and layering detailing makes for an interesting bondage-inspired set. Charlie is also available in a very wide size range with bras from 32-44 A to H and coordinates in sizes UK 8-26.

Legwear is an easy way to discreetly embrace an aesthetic without taking too much risk. The Fiore Hello Gotham and Spider Woman tights are items I would buy without hesitation because they are affordable, pretty and easy to wear. They would elevate a very simple outfit, like a solid black or burgundy dress, into a more ‘intentional’ look. If you want a simple and sustainable Halloween look, you can literally wear these tights with something you already have (a cute black skirt and top ensemble, or a nice black slip), plus cool makeup and perhaps a pointy hat to turn yourself into a fashionable witch. It sounds basic but it works!

For witches craving elegance, the Fleur of England Onyx set is certainly dramatic and enchanting with its bespoke embroidery and very sheer Italian tulle. The guipure embroidery featured on the Onyx suspender belt is delightful and the fact that it isn’t identical to the bra and thong embroidery makes it more sophisticated. This set is available in UK sizes 30-36 A-F (max. E for some band sizes) and XS to 2XL.

Snakes have been having a moment for more than a year now and this pumpkin-coloured satin pajama set by Wolf & Whistle is right on theme for this week! The oversize snake print is a nice iteration of the trend, and the warm colourway feels perfect for the autumn season. It could surely spice up your nighttime routine. Available in size UK 8 to 26.

Now if Halloween is your religion, I recommend taking a look at VideNoir. This gothic couture brand has been incredibly popular recently, so much so that they temporarily close their online store on a regular basis. Their creations are often breathtakingly beautiful and very extravagant, yet still relatively affordable for the level of creativity and work they are offering. Custom sizing is available.

Last but not least, the iconic Thistle & Spire Medusa range is fit for powerful enchantresses and mythological creatures. One thing about gothic-inspired lingerie or even bondage-inspired lingerie is that it rarely comes in an inclusive range of colours whenever illusion mesh is used, but this particular collection does just that. The beautiful snake embroidery will flatter a wide range of skin tones as the brand offers 4 shades for very light to dark skin, and even a bralette set if bodysuits aren’t your cup of tea. Available in sizes XS to 3XL.

Do you enjoy matching your lingerie to a particular theme? Are you wearing bats and spiders all year round or only in October?
