I’m kicking my holiday content off with my most budget-friendly gift guide, covering ideas for less than £50. At this price, you can’t expect to find luxury (unless you’re incredibly lucky and score a significant sale discount), but you can still find lingerie that’s uniqely pretty.

Last Thursday, Zara made a bold entry into the lingerie industry with a 158-piece debut collection. While around a third of those have yet to be unveiled, the launch is titled “The Female Gaze” and so far seems to be a push-up free, padding-free product range that focusses on embracing comfort.

Today’s blog post is a round up of low-cost items by small lingerie labels – most of them handmade, one-person operations – that you can buy to help support them, if you’re in a position to do that.

This is the first of three lingerie gift guides I’ll be publishing this year, and focusses on the most affordable items. Everything on this list is below £50, but prices go right down to around £7. So there really is something for every budget.

Silk is one of the most popular fabrics used in lingerie design – prized because of the beautiful way it drapes over the body, alongside its soft feel and versatility. Year round, silk is a wonderful fabric to wear next to our most sensitive areas due to its hypoallergenic nature, sweat wicking properties, and ability to keep cool in warm temperatures as well as vice versa.

If you’re considering your first ever boudoir photo shoot, one of your biggest questions is almost certainly “what should I wear?”. That’s really up to you, but I’m here to share some advice. Remember that boudoir shoots come in a huge range of aesthetics, from kitschy pin-up to raunchy glamour model to ‘just chilling in my jammies’.

My Christmas tree is up and decorated (yep, I’m one of those people), and this year I’ve gone with a white and gold theme. I love a metallic touch all year round, but it feels especially perfect for the festive season.

I buy and enjoy lingerie at a whole range of prices, from high-street pieces through to the fancy stuff. But the more I learn about lingerie, the more I’ve come to appreciate and desire those finer details you only find from expensive brands. Like many of you though, I struggle to afford them.
