100 Days, 100 Pairs of Knickers

by Estelle Puleston

Last year I took part in the 100 Days Project, which for those who don’t know is an event where participants do something – absolutely anything – every day for 100 days and record the results online. I decided to use it as an excuse to experiment with new lingerie accessory ideas, and you can see my 2013 project here.

Unfortunately I only made it to day 43, mostly due to a month-long holiday travelling abroad in the middle of the 100 days, but this year I’m aiming for the full 100!

So, what am I doing? Over the last few weeks I’ve been stockpiling gorgeous printed jerseys, stretch laces and sheer meshes and each day I’ll be picking one and turning it into a unique pair of knickers. I’ve also bought out the local haberdashery of pattern paper and I’ll be having fun coming up with new patterns, from high-waisted Big Knicker styles to the small and strappy stuff I love so much.

I’m pretty obsessed with the pink mesh with black velvet polkadots, and the gorgeous floral print at the top-centre of the image above, but I’d love to know which fabrics you’d like to see turned into knickers first! I’ll be creating a range of sizes from XS to XL throughout the project and I won’t be taking custom orders but if there’s a fabric you love and you’d like me to make something in your size with it just let me know.

All 100 pairs of knickers will be available to buy here and in my Etsy boutique to fund my Christmas lingerie collection.

You can keep up to date with the project over on the 100 Days Project website from July 11th, and I’ll also be posting blog updates every now and then with what I’ve made. I can’t wait to get started!

P.S. Budding lingerie designers or anyone else who fancies taking part (it doesn’t have to be lingerie related), you’ve got until July 10th to register to participate.
