One of the things I’d like to do in 2016 is share some of my favourite lingerie lookbooks with you. I mostly write reviews at the moment but there’s so much more beautiful lingerie out there than I could ever possibly afford to buy for myself! Janay sent their latest lookbook over recently and it’s simply gorgeous, so this seems like the perfect way to kick off this new blog series.
Janay is a luxurious, independent British lingerie brand that launched in 2014. Everything is made right here in Britain, and often by Janay herself who is a graduate from the world-renowned De Montfort university.

Serendipity is Janay’s second collection, “inspired by delicate wild floral scenes“. It’s more whimsical and romantic than her debut collection, with a muted pink, mauve and ivory-white colour palette and floatier shapes such as the open-sided Sonder shorts and – my personal favourite – the Limerence set which features fluttering silk-tulle as ‘wings’ on the bra and draped around the sides of the knicker.

Speaking as someone who loves the strappy trend but also all things pretty and girly, I love that Serendipity incorporates small touches of elastic detailing alonside hand-cut lace appliqués.
The Wild Lace Double-Crossed suspender belt for example is stunning, with its unusual wrap-around suspender straps that don’t hang straight down, and the collarbone-height elastic strapping on the Ethereal bra adds interest to what would otherwise be a fairly classic-looking piece.

Aside from the soft silk bralette, all of the bras in Janay’s Serendipity collection feature her signature U For You shape at the centre-gore – a U-shaped cutaway between the cups. Not only does it look gorgeous, it’s designed for enhanced comfort since there’s nothing pressing against your sternum.
Janay lingerie is notably one of the few luxury brands covering smaller sizes – bras start from a 30A and are available up to a 36D (this is a slightly expanded size range from her debut collection which stopped at a 36C). Serendipity prices range from £110-140 for bras and £75-120 for bottoms.

Love the eloquent bra and slip, but the suspender belt is my favourite. Will have to save up for that.
