I’m going through something of a sheer mesh phase right now. I’m late to the trend, I know. But there’s something particularly entrancing to me about this barely-there fabric – especially when it forms a backdrop for stunning embroidery work.

We recently, finally moved into our own place here in Spain, after many months of living with my in-laws. I’m still busy unpacking suitcases, but of course, one of the first things I did was pick out a place to put my lingerie collection. I realised there’s a rather a lot of it that I haven’t worn for quite some time…

My move to Barcelona got off to a serendipitous start last year when I was contacted by Sofía Luzón, a local designer who had at the time just debuted her brand. I instantly fell in love with the 12-piece collection, which focusses on elegant, simple shapes crafted from silk satin and luxurious, European-made laces.

After the gloominess of the winter months, spring always makes me want to put on my boldest and brightest clothing. The sky is blue, the sun is shining… why shouldn’t your lingerie match up? I always find that a colourful bra set lifts my mood too – it’s the perfect way to kick off each day, and the new season ahead!

You may recall adhesive bra-specialist Kissbobo from a couple of my earlier collaborations with them. To kick off 2018, they’ve got a cute new logo – and a fantastic new product.

Although oodles of support is no longer what I really look for in a bra, I had a Panache bra back when I was pregnant and have also tried, and been impressed by, their Cleo by Panache line. This is a brand that combines a wealth of fit expertise with great fabric choices, to create full-bust lingerie that isn’t boring.

With Valentine’s Day rapidly approaching you may be thinking of buying a lingerie subscription gift for your partner. Or maybe you’re just thinking of trying one yourself. Whatever the reason for your interest, if you’re wondering which is the best lingerie subscription service out there, I decided to try a few out and report back!

If you’ve never tried silk lingerie, you’re missing out. I used to wonder if there was really such a difference between real silk garments and their polyester satin and chiffon lookalikes, except for the price tag. Then I finally caved into my curiosity and trust me, the two are worlds apart.

Thinking I wasn’t really going to need it, I left most of my hosiery (and all of my opaque/thermal hosiery) back in the UK when we moved out here. So I was really glad when APM Fashion contacted me and offered to send some bits back in October.

MariLupa launched in November last year, the result of a years-long labour of love by designer Rachel Kenyon. And though you may not have heard her name before, you’ve almost certainly seen her lingerie.
