Fluffy and fabulous, marabou is commonly associated with the sex kitten glamour of the 1950s as it was often seen on Hollywood stars such as Marilyn Monroe and Mae West. Since then it’s faded in and out of popularity – and right now, it’s definitely having a comeback moment.

What to do when you want, say, a pair of sheer tights that won’t break the bank but you also want to shop sustainably? That’s where we get to the two man-made eco-friendly hosiery options I’m going to talk about today: recycled hosiery, and biodegradable hosiery.

I’m returning to my natural and sustainable hosiery series today with this penultimate installment, all about cashmere hosiery. As I mentioned in my previous article on wool hosiery, cashmere is in fact wool, but a particularly luxurious variety.

There is one level of matchy-matchy I have yet to achieve: a lingerie set with matching thigh high stockings. I don’t just mean colour-coordinated, I mean matching. Same lace, same print… a true, head-to-toe suspender lingerie set. Sound appealing?
