January completely got away from me, so before we get any further into 2024 and this article becomes a bit redundant, it’s time to share my lingerie trend predictions for the year (well, ten and three-quarter months) ahead! Plus, a look back at last year’s predictions and whether we ended up seeing what I’d expected we would.

I’m a little late with it this year but… new year, new lingerie trend predictions! As usual, we’ll be reviewing my 2022 lingerie trend predictions and whether I got them right or wrong first. My top 2022 lingerie trend was vibrant colour, and boy did we see a lot of that.

Remember when I reviewed a Marina V bra back in March and said I’d try to do a round-up of similar pieces, because it was definitely becoming a small but noticeable lingerie trend? Yeah, I forgot. But lately I’m seeing this bra style pop up more and more, so I’ve finally put that list together!

What better way to kick off 2022’s content than with my annual lingerie trend predictions? I’m going to start by reviewing last year’s predictions to see if I got them right or not, and then we’ll move onto the trends that I think you’re going to be seeing all over your Instagram feeds and in your local lingerie stores moving forwards.

We’re at the start of another new year, which means lingerie trend prediction time! But before I dive into what I think will be some of 2021’s biggest lingerie trends, let’s take a look back at my last set of predictions and how on or off the mark they were…

Last year, I published 5 lingerie trend predictions for 2019 and said I’d aim to revisit it when the year was up. It was a fun post to put together, so I’m doing it again with 5 new predictions for 2020.

Last year, we saw the star-motif trend take off. This year, we’ve seen another cosmic trend appear: celestial-themed lingerie. This lingerie features the moon, stars and planets, and much of it draws inspiration from astrology.

Recently, I’ve noticed a marked increase in bras that take ‘unlined’ to its extreme, using only plain, transparent mesh over the cups. These styles tend to be lacking decorative details too, or if they do have them, they’re the same colour as the mesh to maintain that sleek and minimal look.
