Today’s post is a brief look at some lingerie-adjacent bralettes / body jewellery by a brand that recently caught my eye on Etsy, Peqota Handmades*. Each one is made from draped strings of beads, including faux pearls, clear or coloured crystals, and semi-precious stones such as agate, opalite, tiger’s eye and rose quartz to name just a few.
My personal favourites are those with natural stones, because the natural variation in colour, shape and texture just adds so much extra dimension. You can see from the videos on the brand’s Instagram page that these pieces are full of movement and sparkle; I can picture them being worn as head-turning festival or club wear, layered over swimwear for a very fancy resort look (not for going in the actual water of course!), draped over eveningwear in place of jewellery, or simply styled for a beautiful and artistic photo shoot.
Pequota Handmades was founded by Sonu and Guddi Devi in 2015. It’s based in India, and works with female artisans in rural areas to hand-craft each piece. Not only are the bralettes available in a wide range of adjustable back sizes, but you can also select a cup size – there are sizes listed from UK AA-F cups, though some styles have a smaller range – so that you get the right fit and coverage over the bust too.
There are currently over 150 designs listed in the Peqota Handmades Etsy store, around half of which are bralettes. It’s been very hard to narrow that down to just a handful of my top favourites to show you here – there are a ton more that I adore as well, so I highly recommend you go check them all out!
