As soon as I saw this Ann Summers Bette bra, it made me think of L’Agent’s Marisela bra – I thought the fun red/pink might become a new colourway for the Marisela this season, which has so far been released in a slew of different clashing colour schemes such as blue/pink, teal/purple and mint/red.
Instead, it showed up at L’Agent’s parent brand Agent Provocateur, on this new-in Lucie bra. Lucie is the cheapest bra in Agent Provocateur’s current range, and as such it’s fairly simple – sleek silk topped with a band of Leavers lace. It’s available in 32B through 36E.
Ann Summers’ Bette bra has the same plunge shape and padding, but with a wider lace flourish. The main difference is the fabric quality – polyester satin rather than silk satin, and a pretty but generic lace. It comes in a very similar size range of 32A through 38DD.
Personally, nothing about the Agent Provocateur Lucie bra kills me, and I’m drawn to the wider lace trim on Ann Summers’ Bettie. Also, I’ve been really impressed with the quality of my recent Ann Summers purchases, though I haven’t seen this particular bra up close.
So for me, this one is definitely a ‘Save’. How about you, which of the two bras would you go for?

Definitely save. Ann Summers bra shape is perfect for me and I actually find it more beautiful – with the wider lace! Obviously AP’s has better materials, but I would rater save on this and spend more at something better!
Speaking of materials, I bought a nightwear set from Ann Summers recently – polyester satin and ‘cheap’ lace (the entire set was \A325 full price) and it looks INCREDIBLE. Sometimes cheaper materials can still look beautiful.
Definitely worth the splurge on Agent Provocateur for its exquisite craftsmanship, but Ann Summers’ Red Satin is a great budget-friendly alternative without compromising on style!
