I’ve been meaning to write this post for a while, and now that it’s officially Breast Cancer Awareness Month it seemed like the perfect time to finally publish it. According to Cancer Research UK, 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer at some point in their lifetime, and yet putting this post together took a lot of research because it is really difficult to find pretty mastectomy bras.
Perhaps that is because the majority of breast cancer diagnoses occur in women aged 50+, a market that is all too often ignored by the brands designing fashionable and sexy lingerie. It’s simply untrue that older women only want bland, beige underthings, but I digress. Whatever the reason for the lack of options is, I do know one thing, and that’s that women who’ve undergone surgery for breast cancer deserve to have pretty and luxurious options available to them too.
Amoena turned out to be a goldmine for chic mastectomy bras, with plenty more styles than just the ones I’ve included here. Do check their site out for more options. There are pocketed mastectomy bras below ranging from £18 to £120 and featuring everything from luxe embroidery to silk to chic prints. I hope you find something you love!
(Also available in stone beige)
If you know of any other gorgeous mastectomy bras, or brands making them, please do leave them in the comments section below. If you’ve undergone a mastectomy, what types of bra design would you like to see made with pockets?

Thanks so much for this. I’ve just had a mastectomy and was upset to find so little choice. I’m looking for a silk type of crop top bra with pockets so if you come across anything like that I’d love to know.
Thanks again,
Hi Michele, unfortunately I don’t know of any bras that fit that description. Luxury mastectomy options are unfortunately still few and far between – Edge o’ Beyond has created one in silk since I wrote this post and it’s beautiful, but not a crop-top style: https://www.edgeobeyond.com/products/karis-mastectomy-bra
It may be worth contacting some handmade lingerie labels that do bras in the style you’re looking for, to ask if they’re able to do a pocketed version as a custom order. For example maybe these: Helen Valk Varavin (https://www.etsy.com/listing/650929000/maia-silk-satin-crop-top-with) and Elma Lingerie (https://elmashop.co/collections/bralettes/products/heirloom-bralette-beige-gold-bandeau)
Oh and I almost forgot, Buttress & Snatch is another handmade, luxury lingerie brand that offers bespoke post-mastectomy bras: https://www.buttressandsnatch.co.uk/postmastectomy-info
