Introducing the 5th Esty Lingerie Design Competition!

by Estelle Puleston

It’s finally here! Back in Spring when I normally start thinking about the annual design competition, I was occupied with other exciting business-related things, and then life conspired to make me really super busy up until now! (Actually, I live in a permanent really-super-busy bubble, but I decided I couldn’t put the competition launch off any longer).

So here at last, I bring you the 5th annual lingerie design competition from Esty Lingerie!

I love supporting independent designers, and this yearly contest is another way for me to do that by finding and supporting new design talent. You don’t need to have any experience in the lingerie industry to enter – all you’ll need is a creative mind and a passion for lingerie (well, and some drawing skills – but that’s not the only thing you’re judged on).

The theme this year is Modern Classics – how you interpret this is entirely up to you! Perhaps you want to use a new silhouette that you think will stand the test of time and go on to become a ‘classic’, or maybe you’ll be inspired by popular vintage shapes that can be given a 21st century update.

So what’s up for grabs? Well the most popular part of the prize is always this – I’ll be making the winning design available to buy at Esty Lingerie! This won’t happen in 2015 unfortunately, but I’m aiming to have it produced in time for Valentine’s Day shopping. You’ll also receive a set for yourself and £100 to spend in the boutique, plus there are a couple of runners-up prizes too.

You can find out more about this year’s competition here (including details of exactly what you’ll need to submit and the deadline), and check out previous winning designs here. And if you’d like to see what made previous finalists stand out, be sure to check out their blog interviews here!

I can’t wait to see what you all come up with, and if you have any questions feel free to leave a comment below.
